Thermal mass walls of stone

If adobe is not available in your area, then the thermal mass wall can be constructed out of stone or some other thick and heavy material. Stone or brick will work just as well as adobe and can be just as beautiful. Some thermal mass walls have even been made out of drums of water, although this may not be the aesthetic that you are looking for. The lower the embodied energy, the better. When nature makes the material, less fosil fuels are burned and less air pollution is created.
In addition, natural materials tend to look great with little or no additional work.
